Lynnette (nicknamed “Diamond”) and Rochelle (nicknamed “Silk”) started a YouTube channel in the early 2010s that was supportive of Black Lives Matter and opposed police brutality, but by 5 July 2015, they had adopted right-wing views and opposed undocumented immigration. She and her sister became an overnight sensation due to their YouTube videos, and they switched their party affiliation; at a Trump rally during the 2016 presidential election, Hardaway said, “we got off of that Democrat plantation, and we switched our party to Republican to vote for Donald J. Trump”. Diamond and Silk amassed over 267,000 YouTube subscribers and 1.8 million Facebook likes, with the majority of their fans being middle-aged white women.

Later, they were hired as Fox News contributors, but controversy followed them when they accused Nancy Pelosi of being a “non-functional alcoholic” based on a doctored footage that appeared to show Pelosi slurring her words and speaking slowly. Fox released them in March 2020 following their promotion of 5G tower and coronavirus conspiracies.
