AI Trump rap song 'First Day Out' hits No. 2 on iTunes

Former President Donald Trump did not launch a rap career this week despite speculation of the contrary on social media.

A viral video circulating social media appears to show a rap song titled “First Day Out” on Spotify under the name “Trump The Don." Rapper Hi-Rez first shared a video of the song on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

The post has earned almost 3 million views and 29,000 likes.

“Donald Trump released a "First Day Out" rap song HAHAH!” Hi-Rez wrote.

The rapper indicated that the song is fake in a follow-up post, saying that he will release "real music" of his own in the coming weeks.

Others soon reposted and shared the video, including political commentator Benny Johnson.

“I’ve never been name-dropped in a rap song before – much less one where Trump is the one rapping,” Johnson said. “It’s a BANGER.”

A version of the video uploaded to YouTube was allegedly demonetized for promoting “harmful or dangerous acts,” which violates the platform's community guidelines.

Though the song was created through artificial intelligence, that didn’t stop it from rising to number two on the iTunes hip-hop charts and number 27 overall. The song’s lyrics address hot-button topics surrounding Trump, including his recently released mugshot, his reelection campaign and his competition with President Joe Biden.

“Thug life, shout out all of my MAGA based chads/ Coming for the deep state/ I will stop the New World Order/ But before that I'll finish walls at the border,” the song’s lyrics read in part.

It is the second time conservative listeners have pushed a song to the top of the charts in recent months.

Oliver Anthony’s “Rich Men North of Richmond” became the first debut song to top the Billboard Top 100 charts this month. The song, which has made Anthony an overnight sensation, criticizes wealthy D.C. politicians and "the new world."

"Rich Men North of Richmond" has earned Anthony a following among conservatives, including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., and blue-collar workers nationwide.
